We have big news – Sovrn has received validation by the Trustworthy Accountability Group as a Digital Advertising Assurance Provider (DAAP) after a comprehensive independent audit by the Alliance for Audited Media (AAM). Sovrn is the first SSP to undergo a third-party audit to become a Digital Advertising Assurance Provider.

“We work with thousands of publishers who are creating the content that makes the Internet great. They want a partner who is serious about fighting piracy and fraud on their behalf,” said our CEO, Walter Knapp. “Going through an independent audit is one of the steps to provide advertisers trust that their ad spend is not supporting criminal activity.”

So what does this audit mean for our publishers?

Our focus on having a clean network not only helps deliver our publishers high CPMs – it also protects our publishers from having their content stolen and monetized. Each day we have our Ad Cop department using smart technology and their eyes to keep out bad ads.
At sovrn, we are champions of quality content. By adhering to TAG guidelines, we are doing our part to fight content piracy and internet fraud. Ultimately, our goal is to insulate our publishers from this kind of criminal activity on the web.

“Advertisers and agencies do not want to put their valuable brands at risk of association with criminal activity like piracy,” said TAG CEO Mike Zaneis. “As the first exchange and SSP to undergo a validated DAAP audit, Sovrn is at the forefront of eliminating piracy and its associated ad fraud from the ad tech supply chain.”

In addition to our TAG audit, we also use many internal processes to fight content piracy and fraud. Our ad operations team uses third-party tools such as DoubleVerify and comScore to ensure that all of the content in our exchange is quality, and that we’re reporting any fraud or criminal activity we find.
And while other SSPs may self-audit, third-party audits are much more rigorous.
