We recommend using a maximum of five tags per page.
A passback tag is be an ad tag that you received from any other online ad provider that you work with. It is used in the event that Sovrn cannot fill your ad request. You can input passback tags in Meridian, under Tools >> Ad Tags >> Create Tags >> Passback Tag. See this article to learn how to use a passback.
Effective Floor Pricing (EFP) allows you to adjust the floor automatically, delivering you the highest fill possible. To enable EFP, contact support here.
To create mobile tags, go to Tools >> Ad Tags >> Create Tags in Meridian. Under ‘Ad Type’, select ‘Mobile’.
To create video tags in Meridian, go to Tools >> Ad Tags >> Create Tags in Meridian. Under ‘Ad Type’, select ‘Video’.
You currently cannot delete ad tags; however, you can pause them. To pause an ad tag, log in to Meridian, click ‘Tools’ in the left sidebar, and click ‘Ad Tags’. Find the tag you would like to pause and click the blue ‘pause’ icon. Pausing an ad tag deactivates it but doesn’t delete it. This means you are able to keep it installed on your site ready to use if you later choose to un-pause the ad.
There are two places in Meridian where you can download .csv reports of your data.
In the ‘Earnings’ tab:
Navigate to the ‘Earnings’ tab in the left sidebar and click the ‘Download CSV’ link in the top right-hand corner of ‘Earnings Breakout’. Choose a date range by selecting from the three date range tabs at the top of the page (‘Today’, ‘Last 7 Days’, ‘Last 30 Days’). If you have more than one site, you can select which site’s data you would like to view from the pulldown menu titled ‘All Traffic’. Click the ‘Download CSV’ link to automatically download a .csv file with your ad stats data.
If you would prefer a custom date range, go to the ‘Account’ tab detailed below.
In the ‘Account’ tab:
Navigate to your ‘Account’ tab in the left sidebar, and click ‘My Downloads’ at the top of the page. There are three reports to choose from: ‘Ad Performance’, ‘Earnings’, and ‘Audience’. The pull-down menu allows you to choose from your different sites if you have more than one, while ‘Time Horizon’ allows you to specify a date range.
A fill rate is the ratio of ad impressions to ad requests. For example, if an ad tag is called 100 times and the ad is filled 80 times, then the fill rate is 80%. If your fill rate is low, contact us here to make sure your site is whitelisted. Also, consider lowering your price floor. See this guide for price floor strategies.
A price floor is a fixed CPM rate that prevents an ad partner from serving campaigns that pay below a certain price. For example, if you set your price floor to $1.00 your ad partner won’t be able to serve any campaigns with CPM rates below that amount.
To change a price floor, log in to Meridian, then click ‘Tools’ >> ‘Ad Tags’. To change the price floor of an existing tag, click the ‘edit tag’ icon. We generally recommend setting a price floor $0.50 below the CPM you are targeting.
Additionally, if you set a price floor, we strongly recommend inputting passback tags. See this guide to learn how to input passbacks.
Some stats are calculated in near real-time (like ads today and recent page views), while others are calculated at the end of the day (like page views and top searches), or once a week (like demographic data and audience insights). Statistics are always subject to change and are not final.
