This article is part of our header bidding series. This series includes information on our header code, header adaptor, pre-bid auction API, DFP setup and header auction workflow.

For existing users of the Prebid.js open source code project, adding Sovrn to your Prebid bidders is easy. If you have not implemented Prebid yet, we recommend sovrn’s Header Complete solution, which offers similar functionality, access to bidders and an additional configuration management interface in our meridian publisher platform.Header Bidding

If you do wish to install the Prebid code, we highly recommend you check out the Get Started page on the Prebid site: http://prebid.org/dev-docs/getting-started.html

As well as the DFP Line Item setup video here: http://prebid.org/adops/step-by-step.html Prerequisites

Prerequisites

You will need a Sovrn meridian account with at least one approved site and some Sovrn ad tags. Any domain you wish to serve ads on via the Header Adaptor will need to be whitelisted by sovrn. This process typically takes about 1 business day. To whitelist a site:

  1. In meridian, go to Account > Site Settings > Add a Site
  2. Enter your site name and category and submit
  3. While approvals typically take about a business day, they may take longer over weekends or holidays

Header Adaptor

Using the Header Adaptor

    1. The Sovrn Header Adaptor is included in the master branch of the Prebid code on Github: https://github.com/prebid/Prebid.js
    2. All you need from Sovrn are the tag IDs corresponding to the ad tags in meridian for the sizes you wish to use in your Prebid integration

Header Adaptor

3. Select the tag IDs for the Sovrn ad tag you have chosen to use for each given size

4. For that size, add the Sovrn bidder parameter code to your Prebid Javascript per the example and snippet on the next page, replacing tag ID with the value chosen above: https://github.com/prebid/Prebid.js/blob/master/integrationExamples/gpt/pbjs_example_gpt.html

Snippet

code: ‘div-gpt-ad-12345678-0’,
        sizes: [[300, 250]],
        bids: [
       //Other Bidders here

{

} ]

bidder: ‘sovrn’,
    params: {
    tagid: ‘123’ // <String> tag Id
}

5. Sovrn should start immediately competing in your Prebid auction. Results may be optimized by raising the floor price on your tags to match or exceed the average CPM you are seeing from Sovrn impressions.
