Ads.txt Quick Implementation Guide

Ads.txt File Creation:
  1. Open or download a FTP service

    1. File Transfer Protocol is simply an easy way for you to transfer files from your computer to your website. We recommend Ads.text manager (for WordPress users) or FileZilla. 
  2. Create a .txt file with your ads.txt information

    1. Using a text editor or a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, WordPad, Notepad, or Atom to create and save a text/.txt file in an easy-to-locate folder on your computer
    2. Name this file ads.txt
    3. The file must be a .txt file extension 
  3. Connect to your website using FTP
    1. Open your FTP client and login to your domain’s FTP using your web host credentials 
  4. Select the ads.txt file you created within the directory of your computer
    1. Drag it to your website’s home directory
    2. The file must be on the root level of the domain
    3. The file must have Read permissions set to World 
  5. Open your internet browser and ensure the ads.txt is displaying by visiting your domain/ads.txt
Sovrn Implementation Instructions:
  1. To verify that your Sovrn ads.txt information is up to date, please reach out to us directly. Your Sovrn representative will have exactly what you need, but you are also welcome to email publishersupport@sovrn.com 
  2. The file will include two DIRECT Sovrn entries (examples found in the ads.txt file creation instructions above) and a list of RESELLERS 
  3. The file must follow the IAB format
